Matt brings his passion and expertise to the youth level after coaching in the collegiate and professional ranks since 1996.  Since earning his Master’s degree in Exercise Physiology, Matt has worked with male and female athletes at the NCAA Division I and Division II levels, as well as coached in professional baseball with the Cincinnati Reds organization.  His coaching resume includes a Conference Championship in college, a Division Title in the Minor Leagues, and a National Championship at the U-18 level.
 
Currently, Matt sits on the Board of Advisors for the Department of Kinesiology and Sports Sciences at Wichita State University.  In his third year running PDS, Matt won the 2005 Practitioner of the Year Award, given to a professional in the field of sport sciences, for his outstanding contribution to the community through his leadership and expertise in the field of performance training and post rehabilitation services.  Matt has also been a featured speaker for several Sports Medicine departments in the region, and lectures for school districts on topics including, programming, lifting technique, injury prevention, flexibility, and speed training.  Matt has made it his mission to have a positive impact on the health and athletic performance of young people.

Jay Franz, P.T. graduated from Wichita State University in 1994 with a Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy.  He worked at Newton Medical Center as a physical therapist for a year before becoming Director of Rehabilitation Services, a position he held for seven years before venturing into private practice. 

 

Jay has worked diligently to build a unique practice based on the core treatment philosophies of hands on manual therapy techniques, movement training, neuromuscular re-education, and therapeutic exercise.

Jackie earned a Master's Degree in Physical Therapy from Wichita State University in 1992. She has worked in a variety of setting during her seventeen years in practice. Her primary field of practice has been in orthopedics. Jackie utilizes a variety of techniques including manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, neuromuscular re-education, and vestibular rehabilitation.

Julie Shaw has joined our team as the Director of Operations.  Julie brings a wealth of knowledge and experience from working in education, business, as well as the non profit sector. 

She has been a valuable addition to our team, contributing her talents with customer service, administration, organizing and managing special projects, as well as contributing to our needs with insurance relationships, budgeting, scheduling, and the creation of new programs for our company.  She is truly an MVP!

Mark Kinman,

Mark is a Graduate student in Exercise Science at Wichita State University.  He received his bachelor’s degree in Exercise Physiology from Washburn University.  He played baseball at Barton County Community College and was a student athletic trainer.  He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).

 

Before coming to PDS, Mark worked as a speed coach at Kansas City Sports Speed in Lenexa, KS.  He was also an assistant baseball coach at Lawrence High School (Lawrence, KS), and head coach of the Lawrence Lions American Legion Baseball Club.

Katy Kingsley,  CSCS

Katy is a graduate of Wichita State University, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science.  She is a former soccer player at Butler Community College.  Since completing her playing career, she spent two years coaching in the same program.  While playing and on staff, Butler won four conference championships and two Region VI titles. 

During her time with PDS, Katy has not only excelled at delivering our programs with our younger athletes, she has been innovative in creating new programs with special populations as her focus.
