 The world of sports has become more and more competitive and physically demanding at virtually every age level. With these changes, the risk of injury is growing, as well as the rising risk of reoccurring injury do to increasing physical demands of athletes at every age.  It is important to not only prepare physically to compete in your chosen sport, it is imperative to do so under expert guidance, and in an age appropriate manner.
 

Player Development Solutions offers a tremendous option to accomplish this task under the direction of Matt Sanders, a very skilled and competent exercise physiologist.  His expertise not only provides for proper biomechanical training, but also an appropriate work to rest ratio which is critical in managing the reduction of injury risk.  His background and experience has enabled him to create a training environment that I feel confident endorsing as an orthopedic surgeon, because I know the athlete’s best interests are being put first, and they will receive the best care and training possible. 


PDS also completes the true sports medicine environment by providing excellent “back to play” programs that fill a real need between physical therapy services and a return to competition.  I recommend Matt and his
programs to any athlete that wants to improve their performance, or prepare themselves to return to the field of play.

Matt’s program has greatly enhanced my overall flexibility and core strength, and has improved my explosiveness on the court.

 

Steve’s training at PDS over the last 3 years has made a significant difference in his speed, agility, strength, and confidence.  It was a joy watching him improve.  I was proud watching him play and seeing him handle any matchup against him on the field.  He was a premier center in the City League.  I thank PDS for a large part of that.  --

 

Working with Matt made me feel like I could achieve anything.  He really cares about me, and I know he puts a lot of effort into helping reach my goals.  Thanks to his guidance, I had my first injury free season, as well as my best season in track ever.  He is not only a great coach, but a great friend.

 

I have fibromyalgia and the pain from it was at an eight when I first started coming to PDS.   I was taking one or two pain pills every day, taking sleeping pills, and putting medicine on one knee.   After coming to PDS I am taking no pain medication, no sleeping pills, no medicine on my knees, and my pain is down to a two.

 

I enjoy my time exercising and feel good during the session.  I have increased energy and I feel stronger.

 

When I began working out at Player Development Solutions I hoped to gain more upper body strength, but I’ve gained much more than that.  When I started in January I was consistently having trouble with flexibility.  I had some difficulty walking when I first got out of bed each morning and I had difficulty bending down (for things like working in the garden) any time.  After two months at PDS, my flexibility has improved to the point that I no longer have difficulty in either area.  Now I can’t imagine why I viewed my limitations as normal and I am interested to see how much more I can achieve. I am so impressed with the way the professionals at PDS tailor a work-out program to the meet the client’s needs.

 

I won’t allow myself to rely on talent alone to compete in the big leagues anymore.  Coming off shoulder surgery has motivated me to work harder than I ever have to sustain a competitive big league career.  Working with Matt at PDS has pushed me beyond my own limits many times, and improved my physical condition quickly.  I know I will be prepared to perform at a high level.

Matt has had an immediate impact on my baseball performance.  I have seen a gain in mph since working in his program.  My endurance level has allowed me to be just as strong at the end of a game as when I entered.

Amy has increased her strength, flexibility, and speed since joining Player Development Solutions.  This is something that I noticed both as a parent and a coach.  The real proof that the program has an impact was when other people noticed.  Opposing coaches, her teammates, and parents commented on her gains in strength and speed for her size.

Matt’s program has had an amazing effect on our son’s overall athletic ability and physical condition.  We were amazed at the difference.

Katy has been so awesome to work with, Carson really likes coming to his sessions and especially enjoys talking to you. My husband and I have noticed a major improvement in Carson’s speed and footwork.  We are impressed with the progress he has made, but the best part about it is that he is so proud of himself.

 

Your staff has done a great job in identifying my children’s learning style and building a great foundation for the kids to trust and respect them as their own personal coach and mentor.

I’m a big believer in the need for strength and conditioning.  I must keep my body in top shape to be able to compete with everyone around me in the big leagues.   And as a young athlete, if you aren’t training your body physically, you will be left behind, because these days you need to look for that extra edge and do what it takes to stay ahead of the competition.
