Basketball
Cort Lindley & Jordan Storey helped the Wichita Trinity Men’s basketball team to the Class 3A State Championship.
Football
Louisburg finished the season as the Class 4A State Runner-up.
Goddard finished with an appearance in the Class 5A semifinals.
Brandon & Ryan Patterson both helped Garden Plain win the Class 3A State Championship in 2007.
Bishop Carroll’s Brayden Burris was chosen for the All- City League First Team and All-State Class 5A First Team.
Teammate Steven Schippers received All-City League Honorable Mention.
Kapaun’s Brandon Esposito was chosen to the All-City League Second Team.
Andover’s John Bennett finished the season as an Ark Valley-Chisholm Trail All League First Team selection.
Derby’s Devin Hedgepeth was also an Ark Valley-Chisholm Trail League First Team selection.
Softball
Emma Horton and Heather Borg helped lead their summer league softball team, the Wichita Wave, to a National
Championship in 2007.
Swimming
Jaime Bruce won the 3A State Championship in the 100 yard breast stroke, 200 yard individual medley, 200 yard medley
relay and 400 yard freestyle relay. The freestyle relay team set a new state record! She was selected to the All-State Class 3A First Team. She attained a top 8 finish as a Junior National club competitor. At the Speedo Sectional Championships (Region
VIII) she finished as the 3rd place high point winner in both the spring and summer. She will be attending the USA Swimming National Convention in California.
Bailey Beins was selected to the All-City League First Team and 6A All-State First Team
last season while swimming for Heights High School. She is a two time All-American (2006 & 2007) and currently holds the City League records for the 100 yard Fly and 100 yard Backstroke events!
Volleyball
Newton’s Camri Zweisler was voted Class 5A Player of the Year!
Wrestling
Kapaun’s Dylan Matheny took 5th place at the Class 5A State Championship.
Ryan Patterson completed a perfect season for Garden Plain and won the Class 3A State Championship at the 189 pound weight class.
He was also First Team All-State. He was also a member of the 2007 Football Championship from the fall.
